Competitive Program
Fall River Basketball competes in the Metro Basketball League. While we call this a competitive program, this can be a bit misleading. We do have players and teams that compete at the highest levels, but we have players playing at all levels.
In the Metro League each age group is broken down into divisions. In the larger age groups there can be 6 or more divisions. The goal is for each team to have a chance to win at least 50% of their games. Division 5 junior U10 basketball would not be described as competitive by most onlookers. There are over 350 teams in the Metro League - everyone can find a place to be competitive.
The competitive U10 and U12 programs are all fair play programs. Once a child is on a team they will receive equal playing time to their team mates. (The only exception to this is for discipline issues or injuries.)
We make every effort to find a place for all kids to play. At the end of the day the success of our club is a function of how many kids are having fun.
If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to contact our President, Stephen Boudreau who can help explain further.
